Washington Wizards forward Corey Kispert will make his season debut this Friday against the Brooklyn Nets, coach Wes Unseld Jr. has confirmed.
The sophomore he sprained his ankle in preseason during a game against the Golden State Warriors. The initial forecasts established a recovery period of between four and six weeks that, finally, will be fulfilled.
Considered one of the best shooters in the 2021 draft class, Kispert averaged 8.2 points, 2.7 rebounds and 23.4 minutes in his debut NBA season. After a gray start, the outside registered 37.6% in triples in his last 42 games.
Kispert seems likely to enjoy rotation man minutes immediately, as Delon Wright is in dry dock with a hamstring strain. The Wizards have started the regular season with a record of four wins and four losses.
