The Milwaukee Brewers and their ace Corbin Burnes have found themselves at an impasse.

The former Cy Young recently lost his arbitration case against the Brewers, and it appears that the two sides are now at odds.

Burnes certainly thinks so, and didn’t hesitate to voice his frustration over the process

The right-hander filed for $10.75 million, while the Brewers filed for $10.01 million.

Burnes will pitch for $10.01 million.

With damage having been done, Burnes could eventually request a trade from the Brewers.

On Twitter, a St. Louis Cardinals fan commented on the situation, and stated that it may not be long before Burnes is out of the NL Central and with a different team.

Burnes is clearly frustrated with what took place, and it’s easy to see why.

In financial terms, Burnes did not ask for much more than what the Brewers will ultimately give him, meaning the team had the resources to give him what he wanted.

Unfortunately, the right-hander did not get what he wanted.

With tensions high, Burnes may eventually request a trade, meaning his NL Central dominance could be over soon.

That would certainly make things easier for the Cardinals, who appear to be the overwhelming favorites to win the NL Central.

Milwaukee would then only have Brandon Woodruff and Freddy Peralta as frontline starters in their rotation.

Without Burnes, challenging the Cardinals will be that much harder for the Brewers.

Of course, nothing is set in stone, and Burnes may ultimately remain in Milwaukee.

But it’s clear that there are some hurt feelings about the matter.
