The Milwaukee Brewers have started to play better baseball in recent weeks, having won six of their last 10 games.

The Brewers have moved within a half-game of the Cincinnati Reds in the NL Central and are just three behind in the Wild Card race.

Much of his recent success has to do with the resurgence of outfielder and slugger Christian Yelich.

Yelich has experienced some struggles in recent seasons, but he’s hitting .270 this season with nine home runs, 34 RBIs and a .794 OPS.

Over his last 17 games, Yelich is slashing .338/.419/.585 with 11 extra-base hits and 12 runs scored.

On Twitter, MLB Network posted Yelich’s stats from his last 17 games.

These are some very solid numbers from Yelich of late.

The slugger and former MVP has been on a roll of late and has helped bring the Brewers back within surprising distance in the NL Central and the NL Wild Card race.

But this season has been a vast improvement over the past few years for the former MVP.

Last season, Yelich hit just .252 with 14 home runs and 57 RBIs.

This year, the veteran slugger is hitting .363 on base with a .431 slugging percentage with a 118 OPS+.

Yelich won a Gold Glove, two batting titles and three Silver Slugger Awards while earning two All-Star Game nominations in addition to his MVP season in 2018.

The 31-year-old appears to be back to his old ways and is helping the Brewers gain ground in the NL Central.

Milwaukee is 40-37 on the season.
