Though Adam Wainwright is entering his final season in Major League Baseball, the St. Louis Cardinals are fortunate to have plenty of pitching depth within the organization.

Once such pitcher who has been turning heads lately is right-hander Tink Hence.

The 20-year-old has an electric fastball which makes him stand out among the other pitching prospects.

Today, the young right-hander and top pitching prospect threw a bullpen session at the team’s spring training complex in Jupiter, Florida.

Cardinals MLB.com beat writer John Denton got a chance to watch Hence’s bullpen session, and reported on the difference of the sounds when his four-seam fastball hits the catcher’s mitt.

This is one of many reasons why the Cardinals are so high on Hence and view him as a potential starter in the future.

His fastball is clearly electric, and he is making plenty of strides as he looks to establish himself as a future piece for the Cardinals.

At just 20 years old, Hence has drawn rave reviews from the Cardinals front office and coaching staff.

Along with Matthew Liberatore, Gordon Graceffo, Tommy Parsons, and Michael McGreevy, Hence is one of the top pitching prospects within the Cardinals organization and appears to have a bright future ahead of him.

The hard-throwing right-hander appeared in 16 games at the Single-A level in 2022, losing his only decision but posting an ERA of 1.38.

So when time comes for Wainwright to hang up his spikes, the Cardinals will have plenty of pitching depth to choose from as they look to replace him.
