The St. Louis Cardinals were relatively quiet this past winter, with the signing of Willson Contreras being the only major move they made.
However, it was enough to replace Yadier Molina behind the plate, as well as add a power threat in the middle of their lineup to replace Albert Pujols.
As a result, St. Louis now has him, Paul Goldschmidt, and Nolan Arenado in the middle of their order.
The Cards are also banking heavily on solid seasons from stars such as Tommy Edman and Brendan Donovan and are hoping that outfielders Tyler O’Neill and Dylan Carlson will bounce back.
On Twitter, a fan expressed excitement over the team’s lineup and believes it could be a very dangerous one.
This offense… there’s just something about it.
It’s such a good mix of youngsters and veterans. Great balance and they’re all exciting. The league isn’t ready.
The Cardinals will not be an easy team to pitch against. #STLCards

It could be just that.
In addition to Goldschmidt, Arenado, Contreras, and the others, St. Louis also has a promising young prospect in Jordan Walker, who is competing for a spot on the Opening Day roster.
Walker hit a towering three-run homer in the team’s win over the Miami Marlins on Sunday.
They also have two solid options at the designated hitter position in Nolan Gorman and Juan Yepez, both of whom could provide a spark off the bench when they aren’t in the lineup.
Lars Nootbaar also cannot be overlooked after a second-half surge.
The only major question mark is Paul DeJong, who appears to have reworked his swing this spring and is ready to fight for a roster spot.
St. Louis may have been quiet during the offseason, but they have plenty of offensive depth that should help carry them through the season.
