On Monday, pitchers and catchers will report to spring training, thus signaling the start of a new season.

Fans of every team are looking forward to seeing their favorite players in action once again.

This year, spring training won’t be delayed by a lockout, as it was last year.

Either way, baseball fans don’t typically enjoy the winter months.

But winter is winding down and soon, we will see some baseball take place.

On Twitter, a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals posted a reminder for fans, that two weeks from tomorrow is when the team will play their first spring training game.

There are a lot of things to look forward to in St. Louis.

Firstly, fans will have a chance to witness the start of a new era behind home plate with Willson Contreras, who they signed to a five-year, $87.5 million deal in free agency.

Contreras gives the team an established catcher, as well as a threat in the middle of the lineup.

Fans will get another chance to see Adam Wainwright in action as well.

Unfortunately, this will be his final season in the big leagues, and he’ll pitch without his longtime backstop Yadier Molina behind the plate.

Still, fans enjoy seeing Wainwright pitch, and they’ll have another opportunity to see him do it this year.

The offseason was quieter than what many fans had hoped for, but St. Louis appears to have a bright future.

And soon, baseball will be back, and games will get underway.
