A few months have passed since the legendary career of Albert Pujols came to an end.

It ended in disappointing fashion, with the St. Louis Cardinals being knocked out by the Philadelphia Phillies in a two-game Wild Card Series sweep.

But 2022 gave fans in St. Louis one last chance to see him and Yadier Molina in action.

After a poor start to the season, Pujols rebounded in the second half and ended up reaching 700 home runs.

But the veteran slugger wasn’t done after that home run.

He still had three more left in the tank.

One of those came during the last home game of the regular season against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

On Twitter, a Cardinals fan posted a highlight video of the home run.

This was a bittersweet moment for Cardinals fans.

While it was the last home run Pujols would ever hit at Busch Stadium, it still brought out the same reaction from the loyal St. Louis crowd.

Every time Pujols came to the plate, he would do so to the tune of a standing ovation, even on the road.

But no fanbase adored him like St. Louis did.

And for many Cards fans, this was the last home run they got to see Pujols hit live.

It was also the last time several fans got a chance to even see him.

A few innings later, when manager Oliver Marmol came to remove starter Adam Wainwright from the game after allowing six runs, he sent Pujols and Molina with the veteran right-hander.

Cardinals fans cheered as they watched the three legends walk off the field together one last time.
