Things haven’t been going according to plan for the St. Louis Cardinals.
The team may have only played nine games to this point, but in those nine games they are 3-6 and are in a tie with the Philadelphia Phillies for the second-worst record in the National League.
The offense has fallen silent, and the starting rotation hasn’t been any better, as only one quality start has been recorded thus far.
On Twitter, a Cardinals fan sounded off on the struggles of the team and gave an honest take about where things stand and what was initially expected out of spring training.
Are we overreacting to the Cardinals bad start? Likely yes but there are definitely some aspects of this team that are cause for frustration and concern. This team is too talented to look this horrible #STLCards

To be fair, it is only April and the Cardinals do have a talented roster.
But after signing Willson Contreras to bolster the offense, the team was expecting to have a better start.
Fans were expecting better as well.
By no means is it a time to panic, as there is still a lot of time left in the season.
But there are still some glaring issues that were not addressed over the winter.
The starting rotation is one of those areas.
Once again, the team began the regular season with a starter on the injured list and did not do anything to address it.
Plenty of starters were available last offseason, but St. Louis didn’t budge.
As a result, the starting rotation has been severely underperformed.
Still, the Cardinals have talent on their roster and likely will turn things around soon.
But that doesn’t mean that fans aren’t frustrated by recent events.
