Byron Buxton Comments On Latest Injury Scar

Few players in MLB have the kind of talent Minnesota Twins outfielder Byron Buxton can boast.

On the other hand, few players are as injury-prone as he is.

So, when Buxton is involved in an outfield wall or baserunning collision, the entire baseball universe holds its breath.

Until we all watch him get up on his own power, we are a bit uneasy.

You have to understand: talented players belong on the field, and we, as most fans, don’t want Buxton out with an injury.

When he collided with the Chicago White Sox’s Lenyn Sosa on Wednesday, it was one of those scary moments in which we all thought the worst could happen.

Here is the game:

It’s too early to say if he will miss time, but he was set to be replaced by a pinch hitter and his status for the rest of the week is unclear.

I have explained the details of the collision.

Twins insider Dan Hayes said Buxton “had an abrasion on his forehead, but was in good spirits. Upbeat.”

Buxton, as stated, didn’t blame the White Sox player for the hit, and understands it’s part of baseball.

Besides his forehead, he also hurt his leg, although there are still no details available on that front.

For what it’s worth, Twins manager Rocco Baldelli told reporters that Buxton will be re-evaluated prior to Thursday’s series opener against the New York Yankees.

There is the chance he is good to go, but even if that’s the case, we wouldn’t be surprised to see Baldelli giving him the day off just in case.
