This could be a make-or-break NFL Draft for the Houston Texans.
They brought DeMeco Ryans to serve as their new Head Coach, and while it might take a while before they straighten the ship, they might as well be on the verge of adding the piece they need to turn things around.
The Texans currently hold the second-overall pick, and they’re projected to use it on Bryce Young, providing the Chicago Bears don’t trade their pick.
The Alabama product looks like a generational talent and the guy who could put the Texans’ woes behind him, and he seemed quite excited about how their meeting at the NFL Scouting Combine went down, according to Aaron Wilson.
“My meeting with the Texans was great,” Young said. “I was super happy to be in that room. It was an amazing staff and to be able to talk ball with them asking me some questions and me to learn more about them, them to learn more about me, it was a great environment. Just being in that room, I got a lot of wisdom, so I’m super grateful for it.”

Young is a very mature 21-year-old, and he’s always embraced a leadership role wherever he’s played.
That could end up being a huge factor in a rebuilding team looking to find a new identity and develop a winning culture after years of struggles.
Of course, there will always be concerns about his size and weight at the professional level, so the Texans would need to revamp their offensive line to try and keep him safe for years to come.
They also need to add more weapons to the passing game, especially with Brandin Cooks reportedly looking to leave the premises, and the Texans have enough cap space and draft capital to surround him with some solid talent.
It’s been a while since Texans fans had some reasons to look forward to the season, but we’re on the verge of a new era in franchise history.
