Bryce Harper is finally set to play in his first ever World Series.

Harper came up big for the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 5 of the NLCS on Sunday, hitting a go-ahead two-run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning, setting the stage for David Robertson and Ranger Suarez to record the final three outs.

Now, the Phillies are set to take on the Houston Astros.

But Harper will be taking a new nickname to the World Series.

After their Game 5 victory, Rhys Hoskins commented on what Harper means to the Phillies and has knack for coming through in key spots.

“We call him the showman,” said Hoskins. “He always has a knack for those moments. He has his entire career from him. I don’t think anybody in the dugout was surprised.”

The Greatest Showman

Harper certainly does have a knack for coming through in key spots.

The Phillies were in need of a big hit in the bottom of the eighth with a runner on and nobody out, and Harper was there to give them that moment.

Now, “the showman” is set to appear in his first ever World Series, thanks in large part to his own heroics.

The reigning National League MVP Award winner missed significant time with a hand injury this season.

But since his return, the Phillies have been red-hot and are the sports world’s favorite underdog at the moment.

Harper probably won’t get a “showman’s” welcome in Houston, but he’ll be ready to put on a show regardless of how he’s received.
