Playing for the Los Angeles Lakers comes with plenty of perks, but you also have to deal with unmatched media attention.
That’s especially true if you’ve played yourself into the public eye, which has been the case with Lakers guard Austin Reaves.
Recently, for whatever reason, someone spread the rumor of Reaves dating pop star Taylor Swift shortly after she broke up with The 1975’s lead singer, Matt Healy.
And while most people obviously know it’s all a joke, some have actually bought into the rumors of Reaves taking her to a bar in Arkansas.
Unfortunately for those who were rooting for this love story, Austin’s brother Spencer recently shut down all speculation by laughing it off and making it clear that Austin going to a bar was the most unrealistic part of the whole thing.

Reaves has quickly become a fan favorite in Los Angeles.
He played his way up Darvin Ham’s rotation and wound up becoming a perennial starter for the Lakers, even getting plays drawn up for him and taking—and hitting—some huge shots down the stretch in the playoffs.
Reaves is now eligible to sign a big contract in the offseason.
The Lakers will try and keep him for something around $54 million, but they’re likely to be forced to match offers close to $100 million.
