Brooklyn trades Kessler Edwards to the Kings

The Brooklyn Nets have closed the transfer of Kessler Edwards to the Sacramento Kings, according to reports by journalists Adrian Wojnarowski and Shams Charania. With this movement, the Nets save eight million in luxury tax. However, Edwards has to approve the transaction due to the “one-year Bird Rights restriction” present in your current contractsomething he will do without any kind of opposition.

The forward has hardly enjoyed opportunities in what is being his second year in the NBA. With the Nets jersey he has only played 14 games this season, in which he averaged 1.1 points, 1.0 rebounds and 5.6 minutes.

The Kings intend to offer Edwards the opportunity to enjoy minutes, shooting and consistency in their G-League affiliate before adding him to the team’s regular rotation. Even so, Wojnarowski emphasizes that in Sacramento they do not close the doors to move the sophomore in the next 48 hours. The Californian franchise will also receive cash considerations as part of the operation.

Thus, it is the second movement made by the Nets in recent days after the transfer of Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks. And it might not be the last: Brooklyn management hopes to scratch some major Canadian land asset.

Developing.
