On Saturday, the Cincinnati Reds entered their game against the Atlanta Braves having won each of their last 12 contests.
In the end, the Braves got the last laugh as they held off a late Reds rally to snap the win streak and get back into the win column.
By snapping the Reds’ win streak, the Braves made a little history in the process.
It was the longest single-season win streak snapped by the Braves since the team moved to Atlanta back in 1966.
On Twitter, ESPN pointed out this interesting fact and how the Braves ultimately accomplished a historic feat with yesterday’s big win.

The Reds rallied late, but the five-time defending National League East champions held on to win by a final score of 7-6.
Atlanta has been the best team in the National League for much of the season.
However, the Reds have emerged as a young upstart contender after losing 100 games last year.
They began their win streak on June 10 in St. Louis and ultimately seized first place in the NL Central.
But the task of stopping the streak was no issue for the Braves, who won their 49th game of the season and remained at the top of the NL for four games over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
The Braves had entered the series on an eight-game winning streak, which the Reds snapped in the series opener.
Atlanta got a little payback on Saturday and ultimately succeeded in putting a stop to the Reds’ surge.
The Braves enter Sunday’s game leading the Miami Marlins by six games in the NL East.
