The Atlanta Braves rallied from a large deficit in the National League East division to take down the New York Mets.
Atlanta was largely buoyed by two standout rookies in Spencer Strider and Michael Harris II.
Both Braves stars are in the mix for the National League Rookie of the Year Award along with St. Louis Cardinals Gold Glove utilityman Brendan Donovan.
The Rookie of the Year Award winners will be announced tonight in both the American League and the National League.
Prior to the beginning of the awards show, Braves bench coach Walt Weiss spoke to Christopher Russo of MLB Network and had nothing but nice things to say about the team’s pair of rookies.
“With both of those guys, we don’t win a division without them,” said Weiss.

Weiss Praises Braves ROY Candidates
Both Harris and Strider are strong contenders for the NL Rookie of the Year Award, and it seems that one of them will be named the winner of the award.
Donovan of course has a chance, but with the breakout campaigns both Harris and Strider enjoyed, it’s most likely that one of them takes home the award.
The 24-year-old Strider went 11-5 during the regular season and posted a 2.67 ERA in 31 starts.
He also recorded 202 strikeouts and threw 131.2 innings.
Harris, 21, also had a season to remember, hitting .297 with 19 home runs and 64 RBI.
He also hit 27 doubles and three triples, recording 213 total bases.
Both Harris and Strider were signed to long-term contract extensions late in the season and will remain with the Braves for several more seasons.
