The New England Patriots are coming off a rough season, leading to a lot of questions about the direction of the franchise under an aging Bill Belichick.
One of the biggest concerns was the quarterback position, with Mac Jones taking a step back after an impressive Pro Bowl rookie campaign in New England.
Interestingly enough, former NFL star Brandon Marshall made things that much more interesting for the Patriots on Monday as he believes Belichick and company will go after Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens.
Lamar Jackson … to the Patriots!?

Unlike other successful and popular NFL franchises, the Patriots don’t chase top-tier talent when they become available.
It seems highly unlikely that New England would pay Jackson his asking price while giving up draft picks to bring him in.
New England has struggled to find the right successor for Tom Brady, with Cam Newton turning out to be a bust and Jones not exactly fitting the bill so far.
That doesn’t necessarily mean the team will make an uncharacteristic move to land one of the top quarterbacks in the game.
However, owner Robert Kraft has been vocal about being disappointed about last season’s end result.
That could mean he might consider a bold move like trading for and paying an elite player like Jackson.
If this is a move the team is considering, Belichick and Kraft would also have to be on the same page, which has really been the case over the last few years, especially when it comes to the quarterback position.
It’ll be interesting to see if Marshall is on to something with this take about the Patriots and if New England does indeed make acquire Jackson between now and the 2023 NFL Draft next month.
