The Kansas City Royals are a young team that could begin to take some strides toward relevance in the near future.

Young right-hander Brady Singer is one of the key pieces on the team who could help transform the franchise.

The 26-year-old came to the big leagues in 2020 and posted a 4.06 ERA during the pandemic-shortened season.

2021 was a difficult season for the young righty, as he went 5-10 and had an ERA of 4.91.

He also only averaged 4.2 innings per start.

However, he seemed to have turned the corner a bit in 2022, winning 10 games and posting a 3.23 ERA.

He also averaged 6.1 innings per start and had a WHIP of 1.14, which is quite away down from his 1.55 WHIP in 2021.

In fact, it was the largest decrease in all of baseball for pitchers who threw at least 100 innings in each season.

Singer may be the next ace for the Royals.

With Zack Greinke in the twilight of his career, the baton may soon be passed down to the 26-year-old.

After two difficult seasons to begin his career, the third time was the charm as Singer finally turned the corner in 2022.

A large decrease in his WHIP from ’21 to ’22 will attest to that.

But he also pitched 153.1 innings last year as opposed to 328.1 in 2021.

The right-hander has found a way to go deeper into ballgames and give the Royals a better chance to win games.

But with him and Greinke at the top of the Royals rotation in 2023, the team now has a solid one-two punch, with Singer only continuing to make improvements.
