In 2019, Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette was one of the league’s best prospects.
He went on to make his MLB debut that year, and has never looked back.
In terms of overall production and WAR (Wins Above Replacement), he really took off in 2021 with 29 home runs, 25 stolen bases, and 5.1 WAR.
Last year was more of the same, with 24 long balls, 13 steals, and 4.5 WAR against a much more difficult pitching environment.
In the last two campaigns, he has cemented his place as one of MLB brightest stars.
Does he have another gear on him?
If we judge him by his spring training stats and looks, it sure seems like he does.

He hit his second home run of the spring against the Boston Red Sox, and is now hitting .393/.452/.643 with a 1.095 OPS.
We could be in for Bichette’s best year as a major leaguer yet.
In fact, his wRC+ of 129 indicates he is comfortably above-average and has been increasing for three years in a row.
The wRC+ stat evaluates offensive performance relative to the league average and considering external factors, such as ballpark and that year’s run-scoring environment.
With Bichette at the top of the Jays’ lineup, Toronto can dream about making a deep postseason run.
He is not only excellent with the bat, but he is also a serviceable defender and a plus baserunner.
He is the complete package, and at 25 years old, he is about to hit his peak.
We might be about to see Bichette’s best years.
