Bears Analyst Hopes Aaron Rodgers Stays In Green Bay

After lots of speculation that he had played his final game for the Green Bay Packers, it is starting to look like Aaron Rodgers will stay put for the 2023 season.

Some Packers fans may not like it, as the team appears to be headed nowhere, while Rodgers may be in slow decline at age 39.

However, fans of the Chicago Bears, Green Bay’s longtime NFC North rival, would welcome such news, and Bears analyst Aaron Leming seemed to echo what everyone in Chicago is thinking about Rodgers remaining in Green Bay.

Rodgers used to be widely respected across the sports world, but he has apparently become a diva over the past year or two, especially after demanding a huge new contract from the Packers last offseason.

He got his new contract, but they traded away superstar wide receiver Davante Adams shortly afterward, and many blamed Rodgers’ new contract for forcing the team to trade Adams due to salary cap restrictions.

As a result, the Packers’ offense looked rather anemic this season, and despite a late four-game winning streak in which they showed signs of life, they missed the playoffs for the first time since 2018.

They don’t seem to have any future studs at wide receiver, and although their running back duo of Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon was productive, the team ranked in the middle of the pack in rushing yards and just 22nd in rushing touchdowns.

Meanwhile, although the Bears finished 3-14, they seem to have a bit of hope, as QB Justin Fields ran for 1,143 yards and eight touchdowns in 2022, and they will have the No. 1 pick in April’s NFL Draft.
