The Los Angeles Angels had a nightmare season in 2022, finishing in third place in the AL West with 89 losses and falling short of the postseason.

However, they were busy this winter, having added some valuable pieces such as Tyler Anderson, Brandon Drury, Hunter Renfroe, Matt Moore, and Gio Urshela.

The new additions have people around the organization feeling pretty good about the team heading into 2023.

Angels manager Phil Nevin is one of many who believes that the Angels have set themselves up for success this season.

The former MLB star stopped by MLB Network to discuss the team’s new additions and his excitement for the 2023 season.

Nevin first discussed Renfroe and what he believes the veteran slugger will bring to the table this year for the Halos.

The Halos skipper described him as a great teammate and veteran leader and also talked about how his versatility could benefit the team.

Nevin then said that he is looking forward to watching his team come together.

The skipper was then asked about the addition of Anderson, with Alanna Rizzo citing the move as a very underrated one.

She asked Nevin about he was seeing so far from his new left-hander.

Nevin likes what he sees so far and says that Anderson has shown a great deal of leadership with his preparation.

He also recalled some of the positive things that those around the game had to say about the veteran left-hander.

Nevin says he’s excited to have Anderson on board.
