Adam Thielen Names 2 Other NFL Teams That Had Interest In Him

The NFL offseason has seen plenty of good veteran players change teams.

We have seen plenty of activity in both the trade market and free agency.

One player that was released by his former team this offseason was wide receiver Adam Thielen.

He was cut by the Minnesota Vikings last week, and it did not take long for him to find a new team.

Thielen signed a three-year contract with the Carolina Panthers, which may have come as a surprise to some.

Carolina is a rebuilding team, and Thielen is on the back end of his career.

Yet, he felt like this was the best place for him to go.

It was not like the Panthers were the only team interested in him either.

Talking on the Pat McAfee Show, Thielen said the Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys also showed some interest.

From the Cowboys’ perspective, it makes sense that they were looking for a wide receiver.

That was one of their biggest positions of need before trading for Brandin Cooks on Sunday.

As for Denver, they are looking to move one of Courtland Sutton or Jerry Jeudy.

So being interested in Thielen would mean he could take over one of their spots.

Overall, the Panthers are a place where Thielen will get the most work.

After they traded DJ Moore to the Chicago Bears, Carolina has no real WR1 threat.

While those days may be behind Thielen, he can still be the top target for whatever rookie QB they draft first overall.

Even though this may not seem like a win-now move from Thielen, he thinks the Panthers are a lot closer to competing than others.
