Outfielder Adam Duvall was one of the Boston Red Sox’s offseason acquisitions.
Contact and, as a consequence, batting average are a problem, but there is no denying the man has loads of power.
He has three 30-homer seasons to his name, the last one coming in 2021.
He is supposed to supply some of the production that JD Martinez took with him, and if the first three games of the season tell us anything, it’s that he is more than capable of doing that and then some.

With eight hits in just three games – and eight RBI, too – Duvall was named the American League’s Player of the Week.
He also hit two homers and had a .571 batting average.
One of the long balls was of the walk-off variety: he took closer Felix Bautista deep in the ninth inning to send the Sox, and Fenway Park, into a frenzy.
Duvall is one of the main reasons why the Sox were able to win the series two games to one against the pesky Orioles.
It was an exciting matchup, and the best game was that one on Saturday.
Duvall has been an extremely streaky hitter throughout his career, but when he’s on, he is capable of getting into some jaw-dropping runs at the plate.
He will be one of the Red Sox’s X-factors this year: if he crashes, the team will miss his power bat and probably fall short of expectations.
If the Red Sox somehow turn into a playoff-caliber team, it will be in part because Duvall is healthy and in good form.
