Aaron Rodgers: Three Potential Landing Spots – USA Informing

Once the NFL season ends every year, all eyes move to free agency and where the big players will go. There’s especially a big focus on the quarterback free agency class and where all of the QBs will go. This year is no different, as many big names are potentially on the move that can dramatically shift NFL lines. But, of course, the biggest name potentially to be traded is quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

The relationship between Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers has soured over the years. This might be the year he joins a new team. Even though he’ll be turning 40 in December, Rodgers still has plenty of gas left in the tank.

The 2022 NFL season was one of the worst seasons of his career (when playing a full season). Rodgers threw for 3,695 yards (career-low), 26 touchdowns (second lowest of career), and 12 interceptions (second highest of career). The Packers also finished with their worst record since 2018 after having three straight 13-win seasons.

So here are three potential landing spots for Rodgers this offseason:

new york jets

Jets QB Mike White

The Jets are obviously in the quarterback market after this past season. The team has no faith in Zach Wilson anymore. He was benched in favor of Mike White, who is now a free agent. However, White also struggled and showed why he isn’t the long-term answer in New York.

The Jets are a quarterback away from becoming a legitimate contender in the AFC. The rest of the roster is talented enough to compete. New York was on the path to the playoffs this year despite poor quarterback play, but injuries derailed them.

Aaron Rodgers would significantly elevate this Jets team, and he’ll actually get some receivers to throw to. They include Rookie of the Year winner Garrett Wilson, Elijah Moore, and Corey Davis. Along with that, New York hired Nathanial Hackett as the offensive coordinator. Hackett was Rodgers’ offensive coordinator when he won back-to-back MVPs in 2020 and 2021.

Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders were set to be a top contender in the AFC in 2022. But, they finished third in the AFC West with six wins. The team struggled as a whole, but much of the blame was given to Derek Carr. Confusing, since the offense scored the sixth-most points in the conference.

Aaron Rodgers is an upgrade from Carr, who has been released from the team. And not to mention, he already has excellent chemistry with wide receiver Davante Adams, who played with Rodgers and the Packers for eight years.

Tennessee Titans

Titans RB Derrick Henry

The Titans are the most intriguing team on this list, as they already have a starting quarterback in Ryan Tannehill. However, it’s clear the Titans aren’t going to win a Super Bowl with Tannehill under center.

Tannehill has progressively gotten worse since being in Tennessee, with the previous season being the worst. And Malik Willis is still a project that needs much more time to develop, as he’s never thrown for over 100 yards in an NFL game.

Rodgers would greatly benefit from head coach Mike Vrabel and the emphasis on the run game with Derrick Henry. And with a division that is never a guarantee, a path back to the playoffs is right there for the taking.
