Aaron Rodgers’ time as the Green Bay Packers’ starting quarterback is all but over, as he appears headed to the New York Jets eleven both teams work out the terms of a trade.
Rodgers’ tenure in Green Bay wasn’t exactly a failure, as he led the franchise to a Super Bowl championship in 2010 and several other NFC Championship Game appearances.
However, many feel it was a disappointment, given that he was always in the discussion as arguably the game’s best QB but only has one Vince Lombardi Trophy to show for it.
The Rodgers era has apparently ended in discordant fashion for the Packers, as his final pass was intercepted by the Detroit Lions.

Green Bay lost that contest to the Lions, 20-16, which eliminated them from contention for a Wild Card playoff spot in the NFC.
It was a frustrating season for a franchise that had to deal with Rodgers’ huge contract demand the previous offseason, which some feel led to trading star wide receiver Davante Adams.
Without Adams, the Packers offense looked anemic for a good chunk of 2022, save for a promising stretch before their Week 18 loss in which they won four games in a row.
Rodgers appears to be following in the footsteps of another great Packers QB, Brett Favre, whom he replaced under center in 2008.
That was the year Favre came out of retirement, and instead of battling Rodgers for the QB1 spot, he left and joined the Jets.
Prior to that, the Packers suffered multiple early playoff losses that were punctuated by a late interception by Favre.
Needless to say, their fans have seen this movie before.
