The Kansas City Royals may have something special in right-hander Carlos Hernandez.
Hernandez pitched on Tuesday night against Nicaragua and Venezuela gave two innings, allowing no runs and just one hit.
He also struck out four batters.
The 26-year-old had a difficult season in 2022, going 0-5 in 27 appearances with a 7.39 ERA, but has looked good so far in the World Baseball Classic.
On Twitter, the Royals posted a few videos of Hernandez dominating in Tuesday night’s game against Nicaragua, showing just how dominant he was when he came out of the bullpen and began throwing some gas to Nicaragua’s best hitters.

Hernandez was close to touching 100 mph.
Often times, the best bullpens in the game have a pitcher or two that can touch the upper 90s and even triple digits.
Clearly, the Royals are impressed by what they saw out of their young fireballer.
He was blowing hitters away with his electric fastball and completely dominating the strike zone.
In the end, Venezuela pulled out the win, holding on to beat Nicaragua by a final of 4-1.
The winner also helped them punch their ticket to the quarterfinals.
They ran through their pool play with a 4-0 record, and credit goes to Hernandez for his strong relief outing on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old has looked good so far in the WBC and looks poised to bounce back from a very difficult 2022 season.
He has enjoyed two scoreless outings in spring training and has yet to allow a run in WBC play.
