A Ravens Fan Has Created A New Treat In Support Of Lamar Jackson

Many people feel quarterback Lamar Jackson is on his way out after the Baltimore Ravens used their non-exclusive franchise tag on him.

He will be free to negotiate a new contract with any team he chooses, and if or when he reaches terms with another team on a new deal, the Ravens can either match it or let him leave and receive two first-round draft picks as compensation .

Of course, Ravens fans want him to stay, especially if he would agree to something less than the reported ballpark figure of $50 million a year in guaranteed money he is demanding.

David Alima, who owns The Charmery, an ice cream shop in Baltimore, created a new flavor called “Pay Lamar” to show his support for the 2019 league MVP, as shared by Ravens insider Jamison Hensley.

Many feel Jackson isn’t quite worth $50 million a year, as his production has fallen since his MVP season.

That year, he put up 3,127 passing yards and 36 passing touchdowns while completing 66.1 percent of his passes, but he was down to 2,242 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2022.

He’s still one of the best rushing QBs in the game, but some feel he simply isn’t enough of a threat while throwing the football.

Jackson has also missed five games in each of the last two seasons due to injury, and durability is always a concern for dual-threat signal-callers.

The interesting thing about his situation is the fact that there is little to no interest in him among other teams.

It remains to be seen if Jackson will lessen his demands in order to help make the wishes of Alima and other Ravens fans come true.
