The Los Angeles Dodgers love their receivers and make sure to keep a stock of quality options at the position of their system.

Will Smith, their current starting catcher, is still young and was a prospect just a couple of years ago.

They also have Diego Cartaya, recently traded Keibert Ruiz and added a top receiving prospect in last year’s draft.

His name is Dalton Rushing, and he has impressed since he took the field in Class A last year after being drafted 40th overall.

Now that he’s in High-A, he faces more challenges, but he still dominates.

According to Dodgers insider Fabian Ardaya, Rushing will represent the organization in the upcoming Futures Game.

There, he’ll be in the same field as some of the most talented young prospects in baseball.

It will be a nice learning experience for him.

“Dalton Rushing, the Dodgers’ first pick a year ago, will represent the Dodgers at the Futures Game in Seattle next month. The 22-year-old catcher is hitting .263/.438/.500 in High A this season,” Ardaya tweeted.

That slash line comes in 210 plate appearances and includes seven home runs and an extremely good 20 percent walk rate.

Yeah, he also strikes out at a rate of 24.3 percent, so he still has some growing up to do and we probably won’t see him in the majors until 2025 at the earliest.

Still, he has an incredible offensive profile for one of the most demanding positions in baseball, making him an elite prospect to watch.
