The Los Angeles Angels are enjoying, for now, a relatively normal training camp.

They have their two star players at this point, Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout, already practicing with the rest of the team.

Those two are already baseball legends for all they have done for the game.

There is a third legend in the house, though: Albert Pujols.

The future Hall of Famer retired last year with his beloved St. Louis Cardinals, but was an important part of the Angels at one point, for a decade in fact.

I have played there from 2012 to 2021.

He also has a 10-year, $10 million personal services contract with the Halos.

That means he is currently in spring training helping young guys and giving pointers and advice to those in need.

Who better than Pujols to give hitting advice?

Trout, who burst onto the scene in 2012 during Pujols’ first year in LA, is certainly happy to see his old friend back in camp, even if he isn’t really going to play.

“Mike Trout on having Albert Pujols back with the org: ‘It’s pretty cool. Obviously having his presence of him in this locker room for the younger guys and the guys that’ve been up here. Any questions you have, just ask him. He’s been through it all,’” Angels insider Sam Blum tweeted, quoting Trout.

Trout, perhaps the best player of our generation, has a great deal of respect for Pujols.

The retired slugger will work with Angels prospects in the Dominican Republic and help in spring training this year.

A player like him, who has won it all and knows a thing or two about hitting, is certainly a valuable figure to have around an organization.
