Once upon a time, seeing a professional team trolling another one through one of its official media channels was unthinkable.
That has changed: each year, more and more MLB (and other sports, too) squads make snarky and spicy comments to other teams, especially after victories.
It has become a norm, and while some people are against it because it allegedly breaks some codes, there is nothing wrong with adding a little spice and a little fun to the whole thing.
Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose: it’s part of the game.
Winning is fun, and losing is not.
Yet everyone will have their moment eventually.
Teams, and fans especially, must learn to enjoy the good times and take a joke sometimes during the losing ones.
It’s sports, and they are supposed to be fun.
The Houston Astros sure have had a lot of fun in recent years.
They have made six consecutive American League Championship Series and won the Fall Classic in 2017 and 2022.
The Los Angeles Angels, their division rivals, were featured on MLB’s official Twitter account this week.
They posted “an MVP photoshoot” with three-time award winner Mike Trout and 2021 winner Shohei Ohtani.
The Astros’ response was hilarious.

“Championship-caliber photoshoot!” they said.
And you know what?
It was a championship-caliber photoshoot because they earned their right to call themselves the winners.
When they lose, they will have to take the jokes like the grown people they are.
Professional sports exist so fans can have a great time and enjoy the game they love.
Everybody must relax, and wait for their turn.
It will come.
