The New York Yankees may have an opening in their starting rotation this offseason.
The rotation is already solid, featuring Gerrit Cole, Nestor Cortes, Luis Severino, and Frankie Montas.
But there could be room for a major signing.
Among the top starting pitchers available is left-hander Carlos Rodon, who followed up a fantastic bounce-back campaign in 2021 with a 14-8 record and a 2.88 ERA in his first season with the San Francisco Giants.
On Twitter, one Yankees fan proposed the idea of the team signing Rodon to help fill the hole in their rotation and to add an extra ace alongside Cole and Cortes.

Could Yankees Target Rodon?
This would give the Yankees one of the best starting rotations in all of baseball.
Having Cole, Cortes, and Rodon in the same rotation would make them a serious contender.
Of course, the entire baseball world is wondering whether or not Aaron Judge will stay a Yankee or sign elsewhere.
But regardless of what happens with Judge, the Yankees could potentially cash in on somebody like Rodon or potentially even Jacob deGrom or Justin Verlander.
After trading away Jordan Montgomery, the Yankees found themselves with a bit of a hole in their rotation, and with Jameson Taillon now a free agent, the door could potentially be open for somebody like Rodon.
The Yankees won 99 games and captured their first AL East crown since 2019 before getting swept out of the ALCS by the Houston Astros, who went on to win the World Series.
Rodon could make the Yankees serious World Series contenders and a real threat to the Astros.
