Wednesday was photo day for the Los Angeles Angels at Tempe Diablo Stadium.
And so, several new members of the team got a chance to don their Angels threads for the first time.
One of those players was fun-loving outfielder Brett Phillips.
Phillips has spent the vast majority of his playing career with the Tampa Bay Rays, but has found the opportunity for a new beginning in Los Angeles.
Naturally, with a fun-loving player such as Phillips, you’re going to get some goofy photos, and that is exactly what took place during photo day.
On Twitter, the veteran outfielder posted several of these photos, but also had a hilarious message for his mom, thanking her for reminding him to smile big but also apologizing for not getting different photo sizes.
Mom,
Here’s a few pictures from photo day. Sorry I couldn’t get you the dozens of different size photos and magnets. Unfortunately they didn’t offer that package this year. . thanks for always reminding me to smile big. Baseball is fun! pic.twitter.com/VmO0aEv5xq

It’s the thought that counts.
Phillips did his best to make his mom happy here.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t get different photo sizes and magnets this year, and claimed that the package with those didn’t come this year.
But hopefully his mom was happy to see him smile big for his first photos as a member of the Angels.
As always, Phillips appears to be having a lot of fun, as he should.
In typical fashion, the versatile outfielder closed his statement by saying his catchphrase, “Baseball is fun.”
Baseball is indeed fun, and Phillips certainly knows how to make it fun.
He seemed to do so in his photos.
Let’s just hope his mom was proud of him for smiling.
