Yesterday the meeting took place between Adam Silver and Kyrie Irving that the commissioner had been demanding from the controversy that arose with the player and his relationship with anti-Semitic cultural artifacts. Said encounter occurs with the player suspended by the Nets until further notice. The franchise imposed up to six requirements for his return and the Players Association plans to appeal them. Thus the things and according to informs Shams Charania, the meeting took place in productive and mutually understanding terms.
As a consequence, the journalist remarks that the intention is for Irving to comply with the steps imposed by the Nets. It is unknown how many of them he has fulfilled, but perhaps showing an honest commitment would help see him back in the team’s discipline. In just ten days, Irving has been the subject of very severe criticism on several fronts that have ended up costing him even his sponsorship with the Nike sports brand. Which was one of his main signatures.
Adam Silver himself branded his behavior as reckless a week ago. The commissioner’s obligation is to do everything possible so that one of the faces of the league that he directs does not poison its image without having to exile him for his actions. Things with Kyrie are falling apart at an unheard-of pace and this meeting could be the last lifeline the player holds onto to stay in the best league in the world.
