The Philadelphia 76ers have signed Mac McClung to a dual contract, according to the journalist from The Athletic, Shams Charania. The Pennsylvania franchise will dispense with its current ‘two-way player’Julian Champagnie, to allow the arrival of McClung.
After going unselected in the 2021 draft, the ‘guard’ signed a pair of ten-day contracts with the Chicago Bulls in his first season as a professional. Later he would agree to a dual contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, playing only one game with each franchise. Thus, McClung completed much of his year rookies in the G-League.
In July 2022, he signed a one-year contract with the Golden State Warriors but would not even start the season when he was cut in early October to make room for Ty Jerome. Since then he has been part of the ranks of the Delaware Blue Coats, with whom he has averaged 19.1 points and 4.7 assists in 18 games this season.
McClung was about to become the first Development League player to participate in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest. He will also be part of the event Rising Stars.
