With an eye on the 2023 World Baseball Classic, Team USA has been able to assemble an impressive collection of hitters.

JT Realmuto, Will Smith, Pete Alonso, Paul Goldschmidt, Jeff McNeil, Trea Turner, Nolan Arenado, Tim Anderson, Mike Trout, Kyle Schwarber, Cedric Mullins, and Kyle Tucker, among others, will bring on the runs in the event.

The pitching has been tabbed as the team’s liability for the event.

However, there is a lot of MLB talent on the staff, and the unit is actually a bit underrated.

Adam Wainwright, Nestor Cortes, Miles Mikolas, Lance Lynn, Logan Webb, and several shutdown relievers headed by Devin Williams will be the ones in charge of proving everybody wrong.

While talking with MLB Network Radio, Lynn discussed the WBC and Team USA’s chances.

Like many fans and analysts, Lynn agreed that the strongest part of the American roster is the offense.

Their lineup is deep and powerful and actually looks like one from an All-Star Game.

As a member of the pitching staff, however, he will be in charge of silencing lots of mouths with performance on the mound.

Lynn is a known competitive beast who hates to lose, and that definitely won’t change come March 8, the date of the start of the competition.

The early start of competitive mound work for Lynn will help him make up for some lost innings due to injury in 2022.

In 121.2 innings, he’s posted a 3.99 ERA and a 3.82 Fielding Independent Pitching (FIP).

He, and the rest of his rotation mates, will need to be at the top of their games for USA to have a fighting chance.
