Heat target PJ Washington

The Miami Heat staged an operation this Tuesday by sending Dewayne Dedmon and a second round of the draft to San Antonio with the sole purpose of opening one more space on the roster and freeing up salary load for new movements before the ‘trade deadline’.

Many names have been thrown around in recent weeks, but the general consensus in the competition is that Miami’s management will try to strengthen their inside game. And the last player to be filtered is part of the Charlotte Hornets roster.

As reported by the journalist yahoo sports, Jake Fischer, the Heat have young PJ Washington on their list of potential targets. The power forward turned down a four-year, $50 million contract extension before the start of this season. However, the Hornets remain interested in keeping him on the team and potential departures point instead to veterans like Mason Plumlee, Gordon Hayward and Terry Rozier.

Washington, 24, is having the best season of his career. In a total of 54 games, all of them starts, he averages 14.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists.
