3 Teams That Need To Sign Jacob deGrom

New York Mets ace Jacob deGrom has undoubtedly been the best pitcher in baseball over the last five seasons.

His only issue is health, as he hasn’t been able to have a full season in awhile.

However, as he is now becoming a free agent, teams are going to be bidding for the 35-year-old.

Here is a look at the three teams that need to sign deGrom.

3.New York Mets

Starting with a simple one, it should be at the top of the Mets’ list to bring deGrom back.

He has been the staple of their rotation, and losing him would be devastating for their rotational depth.

While he has struggled to stay on the field, there is still no questioning his production when he steps on the mound.

The Mets would have a big hole to replace without deGrom, so resigning him should be a high priority.

2. Atlanta Braves

With deGrom’s free agency looming, the Braves have constantly had their name floated in the conversation.

He fits their needs perfectly, as a veteran ace at the top of their pitching staff would make a statement.

Following a disappointing playoff run, and with a lot of money coming off their books for the offseason, it makes perfect sense for them to be in the deGrom sweepstakes.

1. New York Yankees

While there have been no official links between the Yankees and deGrom, signing him may be the best idea for the Yankees.

Even though the Yankees’ starting pitching has been stellar the last couple of seasons, adding deGrom could make one of the strongest trios in baseball.

Between perennial Cy Young candidate Gerrit Cole, and the breakout star of Nestor Cortes Jr., deGrom would be the final piece to make the Yankees’ rotation truly scary.

The good thing is that there also wouldn’t be pressure on him to be healthy and make 30-plus starts.

With the depth they have, deGrom can afford to pace himself to maintain his health.

Because of this, the Yankees need to consider making the move this offseason.
