The Houston Astros managed to escape Philadelphia by taking both Games 4 and 5 over the Philadelphia Phillies and taking a 3-2 lead in the World Series.

Now, Houston heads home with a chance to finish off the Phils on Saturday night in Game 6.

The Astros got a little bit of everything last night.

A solid start by Justin Verlander, power from Jeremy Pena, and yeomen work from the bullpen.

At the bottom of the ninth, Chas McCormick decided to join in on the fun, making a leaping grab at the wall to rob JT Realmuto of extra bases.

Houston held on to win Game 5 by a final of 3-2.

McCormick Saves The Day

The Astros were two outs away from winning when McCormick made this epic catch.

The catch proved to snatch the momentum away from the Phillies.

Had it gotten down, the Phillies would have had Bryce Harper at the plate with a chance to win it and take a 3-2 lead in the series.

But McCormick, who has been a revelation this postseason, had other ideas and put everything on the line as he pulled down what would have been either a double or a triple for Realmuto.

Harper was hit by a pitch to bring the winning run to the plate in Nick Castellanos, but Castellanos grounded out to Jeremy Pena to seal Game 5 for the Astros.

McCormick’s catch proved to be a momentum shifter as the Astros held on to win Game 5.

Houston will send Framber Valdez to the mound for Game 6 with a chance to clinch their second title since 2017.
