The Tennessee Titans made an intriguing move to fire their general manager Jon Robinson during the season.

It is rare to see that in the middle of the year, especially while the Titans had a winning record of 7-5.

But, they decided it was time to move on.

Over the years, some of Robinson’s draft picks left a lot to be desired.

The worst one is Isaiah Wilson in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

He appeared in only one game as a Titan before they were forced to move on from him.

Now that Robinson is gone, the Titans have a new general manager.

They hired Ran Carthon from the San Francisco 49ers, and he had some interesting comments at his opening press conference.

Analytics has become a big part of the NFL, and Carthon plans to use them to help the Titans build a championship roster.

In the new age of NFL scouting and player development, it is important to use all the available data.

Analytics can help give clarity into a certain decision that might sway Carthon to think differently about a player.

Playing in the AFC South, the Titans have an opportunity to compete in one of the worst divisions in football.

But, one of the tough decisions Carthon will have to make is what to do at quarterback.

Ryan Tannehill has been their starter since 2019 and has a record of 36-19 during that span.

But, it might be time to move off the 34-year-old as he enters the backend of his career.

Carthon will be presented with many issues in which he will have to make the final decision.

But, Titans fans should be happy knowing that he is willing to use analytics and new-age thinking to come to conclusions.
