If anything frustrated the Bulls’ aspirations last year, it was injuries. The prolonged losses of Lonzo Ball and Alex Caruso, combined with other minor ailments, weakened a team that started the season like a shot. The bad news for those from Chicago is that this course, for the time being, is not useful for making a clean slate in that section. Lonzo Ball is still struggling with his knee with no way out and Zach LaVine is likely to miss the first two games of the season with injury.
The newly extended shooting guard is suffering from discomfort in his left knee. According to advanced Shams Charania, the Bulls had listed him as a doubt for the debut against the Miami Heat. But it didn’t take five minutes to corroborate his loss and cast serious doubt on his participation in Friday’s game against the Washington Wizards. The details of his injury are not yet known, but the journalist has clarified that it is most likely that he will be ready to debut on Saturday against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
LaVine is coming off a five-year, $215 million commitment to the Bulls after averaging 24.4 points, 4.5 assists and 4.6 rebounds in 34 minutes per night. One of the main focuses of the new course was to discover to what extent he could inaugurate the new status of him assuming the role of leader ahead of DeMar DeRozan. Unfortunately, we will have to wait to verify it.
