The MLB offseason is in full swing and most teams are focused on improving through free agency.
But, that is not the only way to improve your roster from one year to the next.
Draft and develop has always been the best way to establish a championship core.
There are a few teams that are expecting to see plenty of production from their young players in 2023.
But, it is rare for a prospect to have a major impact in their first big league season.
Here are two young prospects to watch in 2023.
1. Corbin Carroll, Outfielder, Arizona Diamondbacks
After being bad for so many years the Arizona Diamondbacks are finally starting to see their farm system produce some talent.
After playing 32 games with the D-backs last season, outfielder Corbin Carroll is expected to have a big impact on their 2023 team.
The former first-round pick has elite speed and a career .310 average in the minor leagues.
It seems likely that the lefty will have a few 30/30 (30 home runs, 30 steals) seasons in his future.

The D-backs expect to let Carroll lead them into their next wave of young players.
Carroll is the third-ranked prospect in all of baseball, and Arizona has three other top 100 prospects behind him.
While the D-backs will not contend in 2023, they should at least get a great look at the future of their franchise.
2. Gunnar Henderson, Shortstop, Baltimore Orioles
Another team that has been loading up its farm system for years has been the Baltimore Orioles.
Thanks to that they are loaded with plenty of young talent.
Adley Rutschman already looks like a future star in the MLB.
But, there are other young Orioles ready to make an impact.
One of them is shortstop Gunnar Henderson.
The 21-year-old played 34 games with the Orioles last season.
He had 30 hits and an OPS of .788.

It remains to be seen whether Henderson starts at third base or shortstop next season.
But, he will certainly be on the field making an impact in his first full season.
