The original winner of American IdolKelly Clarkson, continues to deal with messy divorce proceedings over one year after filing for divorce from husband Brandon Blackstock.
The estranged couple and parents of two children, River Rose, 7, and Remington Alexander, 5, have been communicating mainly in court.
The latest court proceeding requested by Clarkson is to legally restore her maiden name and grant a default judgment to make her officially divorced.

1. Clarkson Pays Blackstone A Hefty Monthly Check
Until the divorce is finalized, Clarkson is paying Blackstone nearly $200,000 per month in spousal and child support.
Blackstone claims his earnings are now $10,000 per month as he is leaving the music industry behind to embark on a career as a rancher.
During this time, Black Shelton is still technically being managed by Blackstone.
Clarkson is reportedly making $1.5 million per month.
The couple had a prenuptial agreement so Clarkson is eager to finalize the divorce and operate under the terms of the prenup.

Besides funding 70% of the couple’s children’s private school tuition, Clarkson will pony up approximately $1.25 million for Blackstone’s attorneys fees when the divorce is ultimately completed.
