TJ Warren will reappear this Friday after almost two years without playing

TJ Warren will complete his season debut this Friday when the Brooklyn Nets host the Toronto Raptors at the Barclays Center, as confirmed by journalist Shams Charania. The forward is not on the Nets’ disabled list, so he has been authorized by the team’s medical staff to play his first official game since December 29, 2020.

After shining in the Orlando bubble, Warren has faced a very difficult two years in which surgeries to treat stress fractures in his left foot have kept him away from the courts. Despite his extensive stretch of time away from the field, the Nets closed on him on a one-year deal last summer.

Warren had received medical clearance for contact training last week and is now ready to return to competition. He is expected to be subject to a minute restriction for the first few weeks.
