In New York there will be a reunion of the Wildcats. Donte DiVincenzo has reached an agreement with the Knicks for four years and 50 million dollars, as reported by the journalist of ESPN, Adrian Wojnarowski, and will reunite with former Villanova teammates Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart.
The shooting guard became a free agent by not exercising his $4.7 million player option with the Golden State Warriors. He expected to get a better deal after five seasons in the NBA and boy has he gotten it.
DiVincenzo, Brunson and Hart will look to repeat their college successes. In 2016, the three reached the NCAA title and, without Hart two years later, they were back on top. The 26-year-old also holds an NBA ring with the Milwaukee Bucks, although an ankle injury forced him to miss much of the postseason.
With the Warriors, a team he joined from the Sacramento Kings in 2022, he played 72 games in which he averaged 9.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 39 percent shooting from three-pointers. In the postseason he has lost time on the track totaling 18.1 minutes, after playing 26.3 in the regular round, and his goals also decreased to 5.5
The New York franchise receives a solid defender with an outstanding triple shot. In his career he has recorded 36 percent effectiveness from the perimeter and in 2022-2023 he has finished in twentieth position in steals with 1.3 per commitment.
Di Vincenzo will join in the back track from the Knicks to Brunson, Hart, Immanuel Quickley and Quentin Grimes.
