Fred VanVleet comes to Houston for three years and 130 million

The first maximum contract of free agency it has been taken by Fred VanVleet, who is now part of the Houston Rockets for three years and 130 million dollars, as reported by the journalist from ESPNAdrian Wojnarowski.

In this way, the point guard ends his stage with the Toronto Raptors, a team he joined in 2016 and won a championship ring in 2018-2019. In total he played 417 games in seven editions with the Canadians.

VanVleet’s history in the NBA is more than interesting. No team bet on him in the 2016 Draft, when he was eligible after spending four years at Wichita State. He had to sign a contract as a free agent with the Raptors and, little by little, he earned a place in the rotation. He was only the fifth not redacted to be called to the All-Star (2022) and, now, he is the first in history to sign such a big pact.

The 29-year-old declined his $22.8 million player option with the Raptors and decided to explore the market. In the last contest he finished with 19.3 points, 7.2 assists and 4.1 rebounds in 69 games. The Illinois native accumulates three consecutive seasons averaging at least 19 points and another four with six touchdown passes.
