Last season, Alek Manoah was one of the most reliable starters for the Toronto Blue Jays, if not the most reliable.

He helped guide them to a 92-win season by going 16-7 in his 31 starts and posting a 2.24 ERA, second only to Justin Verlander in the American League.

This year has been a completely different story, as Manoah has posted a 6.36 ERA in his 13 starts.

He also owns a 1-7 record.

The young right-hander was having such a hard time that the Blue Jays demoted him to the Florida Complex League.

However, things haven’t gone as planned at that level either.

He made his first start as a rookie today against the Florida Complex League Yankees and allowed 11 runs in 2.2 innings pitched.

The MLB podcast “Talkin’ Baseball” posted his line on Twitter.

Unfortunately, Manoa seems to have been completely lost.

Last season, he was a Cy Young contender in the American League and was a key player as the Blue Jays returned to the postseason for the second time in three years.

This year, Manoah has been a shell of its former self.

And even in the Hard League, things don’t seem to be looking up for the right-hander.

To be fair, it’s only his first start as a rookie this year, but it’s still a sign of trouble for the Blue Jays, who will need the right-hander in his prime if they plan to make a return trip to the postseason. in 2023.
