Monday’s game between the Chicago White Sox and the Los Angeles Angels was interesting.
The White Sox struck early on Luis Robert Jr.’s home run in the top of the first inning.
Right-hander Dylan Cease, who appears to have turned the corner after a poor start to the season, then gave them six innings, allowing just one run, which came on Shohei Ohtani’s home run in the bottom of the fourth.
However, it ended in the worst possible way for the White Sox.
With Mike Moustakas at the plate for the Halos in the bottom of the ninth and two runners in scoring position, lefty Aaron Bummer uncorked a wild pitch that ultimately scored the winning run.
MLB on FOX tweeted the video of the moment.

It was an 83mph slider from Bummer gone wrong allowing him to score the winning run.
Ultimately, it was indicative of how the season has gone for the White Sox.
After signing Andrew Benintendi and Mike Clevinger, the White Sox appeared to be in a good position to bounce back from a disappointing end to the 2022 season.
However, they are now 34-46, six games behind first place and likely to be sellers at the trade deadline.
Even Cease could be on the move if the South Siders can’t snap out of their slump.
The AL Central is perhaps the weakest division in all of baseball, with the Minnesota Twins in first place at .500.
But despite not being too far behind, the White Sox aren’t in an enviable position.
