The Cincinnati Reds might be the most surprising team in baseball this season.

One of the main reasons for its success has been the youth of its players.

Cincy hasn’t been afraid to call up his top prospects in hopes of making a playoff run this year.

They are coming off a 12-game winning streak that shocked the baseball world.

It seems that these young Reds are here to stay.

According to MLB Network, the Reds have five young players who are making a big impact this year.

Most notable is Elly De La Cruz, who is the number two prospect in baseball.

He is a rare five-tool player who has conquered the league.

In just 17 games he is hitting .333 with three home runs, 10 RBIs and eight stolen bases.

Plus, he’s already hit for the cycle in one game.

The Reds are 13-4 since calling up De La Cruz.

Her impact has been immense at just being 21 years old.

Another great rookie is infielder Matt McLain.

He has played 37 games and is hitting .325.

McLain has 51 hits this season and 20 of those have come for extra-base hits.

The 23-year-old has a .541 slugging percentage and has established himself as a stalwart at the top of the Reds’ lineup.

The Reds are not only contenders in the NL Central this season, but they should be for many years to come.

Cincy struggled for many years, but some key draft picks and international signings are starting to pay off.
