Even though the 2023 season has been disastrous for the St. Louis Cardinals, there are still some bright spots.
One of those so-called bright spots has been rookie slugger Jordan Walker, who is on a roll at the plate.
On Sunday, Walker hit a game-tying RBI single as the Cardinals rallied from an early 4-0 deficit to take the London Series finale from the Chicago Cubs.
In doing so, Walker extended his current hitting streak to 15 games.
According to MLB.com’s John Denton, that’s the longest active hitting streak in baseball, leading the likes of Bo Bichette, Christian Walker and Alex Verdugo.

Also worth noting is the fact that Walker is riding a 16-game on-base streak, which puts him in strong company with Ketel Marte, Fernando Tatis Jr., Matt McLain, Andrew McCutchen, Bryce Harper, Corey Seager and Verdugo.
Walker is tied for fourth on that list with Verdugo.
Although the Cardinals have a 32-45 record and still sit in the bottom of the NL Central, Walker’s bat has been a big bright spot.
The Cardinals’ rookie slugger is hitting .302 with six home runs, 20 RBIs and an .841 OPS.
He’s also reaching base in a .366 clip while slugging .475.
After being optioned to Triple-A in April, Walker has returned and started hitting, while seemingly clinching the designated hitter job for St. Louis.
He was initially part of the team’s Opening Day roster.
Since then, Walker has moved up the lineup and has proven to be one of the team’s best run producers.
