What an incredible game-one victory for the Philadelphia Phillies.
After falling to an early 5-0 deficit, things looked bleak for the Phillies.
Playing in Houston, the crow was electric and the Astros had Justin Verlander on the mound.
Despite all of that, the Phillies never blinked.
They kept putting together good at-bats against the future Hall-of-Famer.
Then in the fourth inning, they had three straight two-out hits and scored three runs.
Philadelphia kept coming in the fifth inning to tie the game back at five, thanks to a two-RBI double from JT Realmuto.
The Phillies became the first team in 20 years to rally from 5 runs down to win a World Series game.

Verlander has been great throughout his career, but not in the World Series.
In this game he threw five innings, allowing six hits, and five earned runs.
Verlander’s career World Series ERA is now 6.07, which is the worst mark in World Series history.
With the Phillies now leading 1-0 in the series, they have a chance to put a stranglehold on the series with a game-two victory.
Philadelphia is home to one of the best crowds in baseball, and they will be electric on Monday.
Game 2 Outlook
Game two will feature Zack Wheeler and Framber Valdez, in what should be a pitcher’s duel.
Both of these pitchers have been their team’s best starters throughout the postseason.
With Valdez set for a top-three finish in the AL Cy Young voting this year.
It will be interesting to see how the Phillies adjust from a hard-throwing righty in Verlander, to a crafty lefty in Valdez.
Game two is a must-win for Houston and it will be interesting to see how they respond.
