Wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will be back in the NFL next season after signing a one-year, $15 million contract with the Baltimore Ravens.

It is a fairly lucrative contract, albeit for just one season, for a man who is coming off a torn ACL in Super Bowl LVI, which was the second such injury he had suffered in less than 18 months.

Even better, according to Dov Kleiman via Mike Florio, he can earn an extra $3 million by catching at least 60 balls and notching at least 1,000 yards and nine touchdowns, or simply leading the Ravens in each category.

It is natural for fans and observers to doubt whether Beckham can accomplish any of those three incentives given his two ACL injuries, as well as the fact he didn’t play at all during the 2022 season.

In 2021, his last full season, he had a mere 537 yards and five touchdowns on 44 catches for the Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Rams.

It was a far cry from the production he had notched early in his career as a member of the New York Giants.

Beckham collected at least 1,300 yards in each of his first three seasons while being named to the Pro Bowl each year and making minor meat of opposing secondaries with his world-class speed.

It is fair to wonder whether he has lost some of that speed, as well as the lateral quickness that is needed to evade defensive backs.

The Ravens will certainly need him to return to form at least somewhat, as none of their wideouts had as many as 500 receiving yards last season.
